Event Description:

Have you ever had a great idea that you thought would make for a perfect iPhone application? Ever wonder how to get your product ideas from a paper napkin to getting launched in the iTunes app store? Do you have questions on how to develop the perfect user interface for your applications? Are you interested in learning more about how to monetize your iPhone applications?

The Girls in Tech-Silicon Valley chapter launch event aims to answer all these questions and more. We have put together a fantastically talented and knowledgeable panel of experts who will not only be informative, but engaging and inspirational as well. The panel consists of Suzanne Ginsburg of Ginsburg Design and author of the iPhone design blog iPhone UX Reviews, Mike Fyall from AdMob, an expert in promoting and monetizing your app with advertising, and Dhana Pawar, a leading mobile application development expert.

1. Mobile Application Overview: How best to determine a mobile strategy for your company/product? What are the key steps to get your applications launched in the iTunes app store? 

2. iPhone User Interface Design: What are best practices around the iPhone User Interface? What are the key tools and processes for making good design decisions. Suzanne will also share some interesting insights and data based on a recent usability study conducted towards better understanding mobile design needs. 


3. Monetizing your iPhone Applications: How best to monitize your iPhone apps? Learn how to use advertising to promote your iPhone applications, drive downloads and boost your application's ranking so that your app becomes more discoverable. Hear the benefits of the free vs. paid vs. freemium approaches and learn best practices for maximizing your business opportunity on the iPhone.

4. iPhone Demos: 3 Silicon Valley startups will demo their very first iPhone applications. They will also discuss lessons learned & how they were able to apply these lessons to building their subsequent applications/versions.

Networking: Meet & interact with like-minded professionals who have some great ideas on the next big thing. Relax with a glass of wine and let your creative ideas flow!
